Putting it all together

Claire is incredibly deliberate.  I feel I can say that with a measure of certainty after watching three babies grow into their little bodies and figure out how to move.  Claire moves with a certain thoughtfulness that I did not notice with the boys.  She stretches out her arm and looks at it.  She opens her hands and it's clear she's thinking deep thoughts about what's going on in her extremities.  She watches people quite intently.  I love it!  Watching her reminds me of the simple beauty of the little things in life.  She's captivated by it all and I am captivated by her, so she leads me to wonder a little deeper about the things I do rather flippantly.  That's nice, thanks Claire.

She's gotten really good at rolling all over and crawling/inching backwards.  TODAY though, all four of us got to watch as she crawled forward for the first time.  The boys and I were playing on the other side of the kitchen carpet.  Joel was doing something on the other side of the counter and all of the sudden I realize Claire is coming toward us with incredible determination and pride as it's clear she has put her motions together to move like a real crawler.  She was so precious because she wanted to show it off again and again.  We joined in by putting toys close to us and far from her and cheering her on as she reached them.  So here's a little peak...I recorded as she was getting pretty tired, but it's crawling nonetheless.  As usual, the boys pay no attention to my highly intelligent video reporter questions...ah, oh well!

See claire crawl here:
